THE ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY OF GAZA WON AS COORDINATOR FOR THE PROJECT .

The Islamic University of Gaza won as the coordinator for the project “Reinforcing Access to Cross Border Employment at Palestinian Higher Education Institutions [REACH]” Co-funded by European Commission under Erasmus + Program
Specialists from Engineering, IT, and English Literature faculties and Business Technology Incubator at IUG prepared the proposal. The university took the lead in a partnership that contains five Palestinian universities and one Palestinian non-academic institution and four European universities from Slovenia, Italy, Spain, and United Kingdome.
REACH aims to enhance the capacity of Palestinian Higher Education Institutions (PHEVs) in promoting cross border employability skills of graduates, providing them with the capabilities for effective cross border working so that they can develop their potential and participate actively in sustainable economic development in Palestine through:
- Enhancing the competence and performance of career centers/ alumni units at PHEIs in creating and promoting cross border work employment
- Strengthening graduates’ skills and know-how required for obtaining cross border employment in six fields: Foreign language teaching (FLT), translation, web design, mechanical design, robots, and machine programming, and graphic design.
- Reinforcing PHEIs links with local and international labor markets focusing on cross border work.
The project implementation period starts from November 2019 until November 2022 with a total budget of € 948.112.
